Yeah — I know I haven’t been updating the quest. There’s a simple reason for that, despite my patience and good faith, eBay seems to have forgotten the power of a personal reply. I can’t say I’m not disappointed, but this only fuels my fire to prove what I know to be true. And that is that I should be the Poet Laureate of eBay.com. It seems so clear to me… like a vision. Like an epiphany. Despite my initial set-back, I’m pressing forward on my letter writing campaign. I’m rededicating myself to the cause. I feel that this is not only important to me, and not only important to eBay (although they may not realize it yet)… it’s completely and vitally important to the entire world of poetry and literature.
So with that, I’m firing up the old printer, pulling out the stamps and trying this the old fashioned way. That’s right — the US Postal Service. Neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail, nor gloom of night, will stay these couriers from their daily appointed rounds… and it shan’t stay me either.
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this little bit of eBay haiku:
WEEBLES HAUNTED HOUSE SCARED GIRL
terror strikes quickly
innocence realizes fate
there’s nowhere to run
-make coffee
-get dressed
-discuss world events with mr. galaxy
-write daily checklist
-drink coffee
-work
-stare at wall
-think about memphis
-listen to ‘swamp’ by talking heads
-think about possible names for my imaginary band
-wonder what’s eating gilbert grape
-shout at the devil
-drink more coffee
-laugh at this
-spreadsheet, spreadsheet, spreadsheet
-wonder what joey buttafuoco is up to now
-consider blogging
-fix other people’s problems
-decide between butterfinger and crunch bar
-consider the true social ramifications of smokey and the bandit
-phone, phone, phone
-plot
-scheme
-repeat
-go to the bank
-eat some ritz
