Spending an entire week on the beach with no computer and no awareness of the internets is an interesting experience for someone who spends a lot of time working in this business. It was a well-earned break (if I do say so myself) — and I’ll be posting some more about that later, but the main things I learned on my summer vacation include:

  • I don’t know how to relax
  • I need a hobby that doesn’t involve electricity
  • You can get a sunburn on the tops of your feet and many other odd places
  • Sometimes things in the ocean are better left… in the ocean
  • There’s something to be said for privacy
  • You’re never too big for a bikini
  • All you can eat seafood — a good thing
  • Sand goes where it wants to
  • Family vacations aren’t for the faint of heart
  • You’re never too old to build a sandcastle
  • Virginia Beach
