I Want to Meme You All Over

You’ll never read a story about me being fired for blogging — because that really implies that I do a lot of it. And lo, I’ve been a’slackin’. But to pay my penance to the blogodome, I give birth… to meme.

If it weren’t for (drumroll) JAMELAH!

If it weren’t for Jamelah … I woudn’t have anyone to help me put on my commie shoes.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … I’d laugh a lot less.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … I wouldn’t have my very own sample of Curious (eau de Britney).
If it weren’t for Jamelah … “waxedachumo” would never have been published.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … I’d be less confident about my art and writing.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … I would never be able to adequately appreciate Interpol.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … I would really hate css.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … I’d never have become addicted to Flickr, Zuma or spicy snack foods.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … there wouldn’t be a series of poems dedicated to Art Garfunkel, the once mayor of New York.
If it weren’t for Jamelah … the song “Sixteen Tons” wouldn’t be quite so funny.

Spread the meme love …

    1. If you’ve been “if it weren’t for”-ed, it’s now your turn! Huzzah!
    2. Reproduce this meme on your blog or website, replacing someone’s name who you’d like to “if it weren’t for”. Show your appreciation, humor, knowledge, whatever of that person. This is really intended to bring out the best in people and give a “shout out”, if you will, to your friends and family. If you choose to use it in a different way, so be it.
    3. I’m starting out with a list of 10 things — you can do more but no less than five. If you do more than five per person and you want to do more than one person in a post, have at it.
    4. The people that you “if it weren’t for” will then have to turn around and do the same on their blog for whomever they choose to spotlight. It doesn’t have to be the person who just “if it weren’t for”-ed them.
    5. Let’s do it.
