Time it passes so quickly … I’ve been here and there, but not so much here, now that I think about it. The summer’s winding down, feeling like a window of opportunity is closing in slow motion, sort of like when you see yourself backing into that stop sign inch by inch but you can’t seem to do anything to avoid a collision. Add this to work overload, an inability to get motivated on other projects and the fact that my daughter left on Sunday for a week-long Florida vacation and you start to feel pretty beat up and run down. Turns out, I’ve actually been having a stroke of bad luck all around. It all makes sense now. If the typhoid hadn’t kept me busy enough, I decided to throw all my online activities into one handy feed. Which seems to work some of the time. You may need to refresh if it craps out on you the first time. Ok, maybe not all my online activities, but a girl has to keep some things to herself. Herself and the creators of Zuma.

Neil over at Citizen of the Month is always coming up with wild new ideas to stretch the fabric of the blog-space continuum and change life as we know it.  The latest scheme is Blog Appreciation Day and it happens to be today!  And there you sit without a card… but never fear!  The premise behind Blog Appreciation Day is as simple and wholesome as Neil himself — simply take a picture of yourself enjoying one of your favorite blogs (or any blog you would like to honor) — then post it or email it to the blogger.  (You can read more about this soon-to-be Federal holiday here.)  Not one to shy away from holiday celebrations and spreading the love like a knife heavy with peanut butter, I am taking every opportunity to honor and appreciate my fellow blog denizens.

Here I am, reading Citizen of the Month — with gusto!

Here I am, laying hands on Jamelah.net, in an attempt to commune with the spirits of awesomeness:

If you’re out there reading, please take one down and pass it around — and appreciate the blogs you love TODAY!

Ah, pop culture, where would we be without thee?  Curled up in a fetal position in the middle of Wal-Mart, I’m sure … but that’s another story for another time.  As inspiring as he is, Kevin Federline prompted this little conversation on the much-esteemed Blog About Nothing…. which, of course, in turn prompted me to make this important instructional video:

When Jamelah says “meme!” I say “How high?”  … And thus begins the latest meme.  Here’s the deal:

Leave a comment and I’ll give you a letter. Then you must think of 10 song titles that start with that letter (as well as the artist), without using Google or other cheats.  My assigned letter is the wild and wonderful W.

1. Wooly Bully — Sam the Sham (and the Pharoahs)
2. White Wedding — Billy Idol
3. West End Girls — Pet Shop Boys
4. Werewolves of London — Warren Zevon
5. War of Man — Neil Young
6. Waterfalls — TLC
7. Witchy Woman — Eagles
8. With or Without You — U2
9. Word Up — Cameo

and of course …
10.  Wake Me Up (Before you Go-Go) — Wham!

Whew … this was definitely harder than it seemed.

Leave it to Garfield to sum up how I feel about many bloggers. Today’s strip: Garfield, 8-14
