Happiness

Question, Popped

Life seems too sweet that we decide
It’s in the bag to get unified.
It’s delightful, it’s delicious, it’s de-lovely.

I’ve written elsewhere and as well as in these pages many times about the experience of being in love and maintaining a relationship with the man who has become the best friend I could ever hope to have. It has been a wild, wonderful, fragile, intense and tenacious experience; one that has changed us both for so much the better. Over Thanksgiving, I received a momentous surprise … a question, a promise, a gift, a life — all rolled into one. Anything that I write here won’t really adequately describe what I feel about this … and about the wonderful, smart, funny, sweet man I’m about to gladly spend the rest of my life with. I will just say that we are happy, excited and hopeful. Life hasn’t been without its own challenges and difficult times, especially lately. I think it means that much more in that context to have someone who knows how scary, hard and unpredictable life can be, to say, let’s do it together. I know we can and will … and so it pleases me to no end to be able to use this occasion to tell the world we’re in love.

We’re still figuring out all the plans and details, but I’m sure if you watch this space you’ll probably find out more than you ever wanted to know. Until then … YAY!
