So spring arrived and along with it came spring break — which is a very lovely invention. I took a few days off again this year and enjoyed spending time away from work taking a vacation at home with my daughter, my fiancé and his youngest daughter. This was much-needed relief from an otherwise chaotic time. We spent a few days being “tourists” in DC and then the rest of the time having fun just goofing off at home. But of course vacations end and work is always waiting. More like lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike, but let’s not split hairs. Now I’m back to being busy at work, doing my normal things like trying to single-handedly save the Internet and blogging about such things as Donald Trump, the paso doble and Don Imus’s latest idiotic move. Of course you know me, I just don’t know how to stop the party train, so I did my taxes over Easter weekend. In honor of the occasion, I decided to portray how doing my taxes really makes me feel, as evidenced in the photo above. Well … who knew this would be so popular? This morning I found out I have finally arrived, being showcased on the Utata front page. Since Utata folks are the coolest experts on photography I know, this is a really nice surprise. Thanks to Meeralee, Greg, Catherine and crew for the shoutout. Perhaps doing your taxes isn’t so bad after all… besides, when you’re finished, you can always hang with Vanilla Ice and watch some people rapping about taxes. Because if a string of pearls isn’t your style, I’d just bet mad rhyming skillz are. (This one was my personal fave.)
