I’ve had a three day weekend, but I really haven’t done much of anything. Of course I have a long list of things I need to do. I think I just needed a break. You know, to order Chinese food and watch re-runs of America’s Next Top Model. And listen to music and rifle through all of my craft supplies without actually making anything. Friday night I did get started on my Christmas shopping. Today I decided to go pick up a few more things and where better to get them than at the friendly local Wal-Mart? Of course I mainly had to go there because it’s the only place in the free world where you can buy the new Eagles CD. I’m not a big fan of the Eagles, honestly … but two people in my family apparently are. (The guys on Sound Opinions had a pretty funny take on this CD — and the ridiculousness of Don Henley — in this weekend’s show.)
After I finished my shopping, I decided to drive to the park to see if I could get some shots of the fall foliage. Somehow in all of this, I ended up having a picnic lunch by myself on a log on the shore of the Potomac, took about 300 pictures of leaves, acorns and trees and ended up hiking a 2 mile trail tracing the history of Henry Lee and his crew. So maybe I owe it all to Don Henley after all …
In honor of Veteran’s Day. I had the day off for Veteran’s Day and today I decided to take a walk in one of our local state parks. Thought I should set up a memorial to mark the occasion.
“When a dame gets killed, she doesn’t worry about how she looks.†— Laura (1944)
I can tell you right now that this is totally a myth.
